STANDARDS OF TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND WATCHKEEPING

STCW applies only to mariners employed on certain vessels operating seaward of the boundary line specified in 46 CFR Part 7

Basic Safety Training (BST) (all applicants): Includes the following 4    elements

 

1) Personal Survival Techniques

 

2) Fire Prevention and Firefighting

 

3) Elementary First Aid

 

4) Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
